How shadowing actually works

1. Shadowing is a way of paying attention twice.
2. First to the sound, then to your own voice.
3. You listen to a sentence and repeat it right away.
4. Try to copy the rhythm before you worry about each word.
5. It is slower than reading, and that is the point.
6. Recording yourself shows you what you can’t hear while speaking.
7. A few minutes every day works better than one long session.
8. Speed comes last, after the rhythm settles.
